5/07/2010 / by Alex Lady GaGa has revealed that she refused to accept financial help from her parents when beginning her music career.
The popstar told the Daily Mail that she was committed to succeed without "handouts" despite being low on money before becoming famous.
"When I decided I wanted to be a performer I knew it was a path I would have to carve out on my own," she explained.
"It wasn't what my parents wanted, but they supported me in my wishes. I took no money from them. I moved out of home into a tiny apartment in New York. I took jobs waitressing, working in burlesque clubs, waiting in bars... It was tough and it was exciting and it was non-stop, and it was all my own journey."
She added that the experience has helped shape who she is today.
"It gave me the work ethic I have today and it gave me a feeling that there was something honourable about doing it all myself with no handouts she said.
"If you want something really badly you have to be prepared to put yourself through anything, work your backside off and never stop."
It was recently reported that GaGa has been worrying those around her with out-of-control behaviour.

Some Lady GaGa fans really do take GaGa worship to a whole new level of… well, gaganess really. Take this man for example who decided, as an homage to his idol, to tattoo both GaGa and Beyonce onto the side of his chest.
After seeing the grim tat – which shows GaGa and Beyonce in the Telephone video – the Bad Romance singer said:
“Ok, this is the most amazing tattoo of all time”

Singer and part-time male model Lady Gaga stuck out like a sore thumb when she made a visit to MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts on Wednesday.
Not that Gaga's natural fabulousness doesn't normally make her stand out from the crowd but this time Gaga was overdressed, even by Gaga standards. The singer was spotted wearing a completely see-through lace gown and piles and piles of jewels around her neck.
The"Alejandro" singer was at MIT for a photo shoot but we wonder if she decided to take in any of the university's classes while she was visiting.

If internet rumors are to be believed, Lady Gaga's next fashion move could be cross-dressing.
Lady Gaga's stylist, Nicola Formichetti, posted pictures of what looks like a male model on his Twitter. The only thing that made this model stand out is that he looked very familiar when photographed in profile.
Nicola claims that the shots are of a mysterious model named "Jo Claderone" and that the pictures are behind-the-scenes shots for the Japanese version Vogue Homme.
Many fans are speculating that the "male model" is actually Lady Gaga. "Jo" does bear a striking resemblance to Ms. Gaga and cross-dressing isn't something we would put past the provocative pop star.
Either way, we hope that the male model is actually Gaga because we bet it would be very uncomfortable for a real male model to be told he looks like a cross-dressing woman.
Do you think that "Jo Calderone" is actually Gaga?
6/16/201 / by Alex Lady Gaga’s “freaky” personality inspired Dutch DJ Afrojack to produce an “underground” remix of her new ‘Alejandro’ tune.
Dutch DJ and music producer Afrojack – who remixed the singer’s most recent single ‘Alejandro’ –initially planned to keep the make his version of the record a radio-friendly track, until Gaga’s camp stated they wanted a more “crazy” mix. He said: “Lady Gaga, she’s a freak. So I thought, ‘Gotta make a freaky song!’
“First I thought, let me just give them a soft mix. And they were like ‘No – we want that crazy Afrojack vibe’, and so I went really crazy. I was even in the studio like, ‘This is pretty damn hard’.
“I sent it and they were like ‘F**k yeah.’ ”
The DJ – whose mentor is house crossover star David Guetta – revealed the tune is “really, really underground”. The ‘Bad Romance’ star recently said she is still as passionate about her music career as she was when she broke onto the scene two years ago. She explained: "I'm really passionate right now. I have this fire in my belly - I feel like I've just released `Just Dance'. I have so much more to give."

6/15/2010 / by Alex Lady Gaga fans have been offered the chance to own a piece of pop memorabilia - a designer necklace the singer wore in her PokerFace video is going under the hammer in an online auction.
The geometric metal accessory designed by Brian Lichtenberg will go on sale on Winnit.com on 24 June (10) but devotees won't need to dig deep to bid on the jewellery - the item will go to the lowest unique bidder.
Users will be asked to pay $1 (£0.75) per bid to take part in the charity auction, which will benefit The Lupus Foundation.
The cause is one close to GaGa's heart - the star's aunt Joanne died from the disease and she revealed she tested "borderline" positive for the condition earlier this month (Jun10).
She said, "Lupus is in my family and it is genetic. My mother told me the other day that my fans were quite worried about me because I did talk about the fact that I was tested for lupus. The truth is I don't show any signs, any symptoms of lupus. But I have tested borderline positive for the disease.
"As of right now I do not have it, but I have to take good care of myself."

6/14/2010 / by Alex Lady Gaga continued her unladylike behavior at Asia de Cuba over the weekend. She dined with about 20 people at the Morgans Hotel restaurant dressed in a see-through gown with a nude veil. A fellow diner at a distant table slyly took her picture. "Gaga became noticeably upset, pushed her security team out of the way to confront the shutterbug and demanded he delete the photo," said a witness. The snapper obliged and Gaga cooled off and returned to dinner.
6/13/2010 / by Alex Lady Gaga yesterday offered this passionate defense for flipping the bird at Met fans: It's the New York thing to do.
"A middle finger is more New York than a corporate ambush," the Manhattan native wrote on Twitter a day after creating a spectacle at Citi Field. "I bleed for my hometown, and I'd die for my fans."
In a second tweet, she wrote, "I guess I'm just a Bronx cheer kind of girl."
Meanwhile, the Mets admitted they struck out by moving Gaga, who had griped about her seats, to the empty luxury box owned by Jerry Seinfeld without consulting him.
"We deeply regret that Jerry Seinfeld has been associated with this matter and have apologized to him," the team said.
A spokesman for Seinfeld and wife Jessica said, "The Seinfelds take an optimistic view of Lady Gaga's gesture as a sign that she wants the Mets to be in first place as badly as they do."

Lady Gaga is not worried about criticism stemming from the recently premiered music video, "Alejandro"."So many will try to destroy me," Lady Gaga wrote on Twitter after critics blasted the video for its play on religious imagery. "So many, over and over, coming in periods of greatness… but in this period, I cannot be broken."
As previously reported, the video for "Alejandro," is according to Gaga, a celebration of her love and admiration for the gay community.
"It is a celebration of my love and appreciation for the gay community, my admiration of their bravery, their love for one another, and their courage in relationships."
